Hotspot Guardian Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Apecoo LLC ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use Hotspot Guardian on macOS.

1. Information Processed on Your Device

• Wi-Fi configuration: the selected hotspot SSID is stored locally.
• Wi-Fi password: stored in macOS Keychain, not in plaintext app config files.
• Local logs: connection/monitoring logs are stored locally on your Mac for troubleshooting.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not require account registration.
• We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or contacts.
• We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
• We do not track you across apps or websites.

3. Network Activity

To monitor and improve connection stability, the app performs network checks and speed tests (for example using system connectivity checks and test endpoints such as Cloudflare speed test URLs). This activity is used for app functionality and is not used to build a personal profile about you.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for advertising purposes. App purchase, subscription, and distribution are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

App data remains on your device until you remove it. You can uninstall the app and remove local files/logs. Passwords stored in Keychain can be removed from Keychain Access, or using the macOS security tool.

6. Children's Privacy

Hotspot Guardian is a network utility and is not directed to children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date on this page.
