LingoCoach Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Apecoo LLC ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use LingoCoach on iOS and iPadOS.

1. Account Information

LingoCoach supports sign-in via Apple, Google, or email. When you sign in, we store the following on our servers:

• Email address (provided by your sign-in method)
• Authentication tokens (for session management)
• Subscription status (free or premium plan type)
• Daily usage counts (number of AI requests per day)

You may also use the app as a guest without providing any personal information. Guest accounts have limited functionality.

2. Information Processed on Your Device

• Learning preferences: target language, proficiency level, and session settings are stored locally on your device.
• Conversation history: roleplay and practice session transcripts are stored locally.
• Review library: saved vocabulary words and phrases are stored locally.
• Study progress: study time, streaks, and daily mission data are stored locally.

3. AI-Powered Features

LingoCoach uses third-party AI language models (such as OpenAI) to provide speaking feedback, writing evaluation, article generation, translation, and conversation practice. When you use these features:

• Your text input, speech transcriptions, and conversation context are sent to AI service providers to generate responses.
• We do not use your conversations to train AI models.
• AI providers process data according to their own privacy policies.

4. Microphone and Camera

• Microphone: used for speech recognition during speaking practice, pronunciation drills, roleplay conversations, and voice dictation. Audio is processed by Apple's on-device speech recognition framework and is not stored or sent to our servers.
• Camera: used for AR roleplay features. Camera data is processed locally and is not stored or transmitted.

5. Translation Services

The app uses Google Translate for text translation. When you translate text, the content is sent to Google's translation servers. Google processes this data according to its own privacy policy.

6. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your contacts, photos, or location data.
• We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
• We do not track you across apps or websites.
• We do not sell personal information to third parties.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share personal information for advertising purposes. Data is shared only with:

• AI service providers (to generate language learning responses)
• Google Translate (for translation features)
• Apple (for in-app purchases and App Store distribution)
• Supabase (for authentication and account data storage)

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Local app data (history, vocabulary, settings) remains on your device until you remove the app. Account data stored on our servers can be deleted by signing out and requesting account deletion through the app's settings. Upon deletion, your account data, usage records, and subscription information will be permanently removed from our servers.

9. Children's Privacy

LingoCoach is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date on this page.
